We are so super excited to have Kate McCarthy and her AMAZEBALL book, Give Me Love, on our blog today!!

Blurb:
Evie Jamieson, a former wild child, is not only a headstrong, smart-mouthed trouble magnet; she is also a lead singer with a plan. That plan involves relocating her band; including her two best friend’s guitarist Henry and band manager Mac, to Sydney to kick off their dreams of hitting the big time.
Jared Valentine is the older brother of Evie's best friend Mac and also the man determined to make Evie his. They strike up a long distance friendship which suits Evie because she's determined to avoid the distraction of love, not only because it doesn't fit in with her plan but because twice in the past it has left her for dead. Moving to Sydney however, has put her directly in Jared's path and he has decided it's the perfect opportunity to make his play.
Unfortunately Jared, co-owner in a business that 'consults' in dangerous hostage and kidnapping situations, makes an enemy who's determined to enact revenge. When this enemy puts Evie in his sights, Jared not only has a fight on his hands to make her his own, but also to keep her alive.
Is accepting the love he's so desperate to give worth the risk to both her heart...and her life?
My Review:

OH MY GOODNESS!!!! LOVE does not even describe what I feel about this book. I literally sat down with a cup of iced coffee and did not get up until I was at 100% on my Kindle! I was hooked from page 1, word 1 to the characters, their story, and Kate McCarthy's world that she created. I wanted to BE Evie... I felt her desperation in warding off love to protect her heart, her love for her brother and her friends, her loneliness in losing both parents, and her need to be successful. Kudos to Kate McCarthy in writing an AMAZEBALL book that is a must read!!

Evie Jamieson is the lead singer of an Australian band that is about to hit the big time. Her best friends, Mac the group's manager and Henry is the  guitarist in the band, and inseparable and kept me in stitches with their antics, bickering, and everyday drama of being roommates. They fought hard and loved hard... which made them even more endearing! Evie's dad took off when she was very young and her mother died on her 16th birthday. Her older brother Coby practically raised her, and she raised hell. Evie loved with all of her heart and soul, which is why she has sworn off love and has sworn to only date dorks because they are safe. This plan works wonderfully until Mac's older brother comes over unannounced to check  on his little sister.

Jared Valentine... oh Jared Valentine.... ***sigh***.... he is an Alpha male, sex on legs, goes for what he wants... and he wants Evie! The second their eyes meet Evie realizes this is the man who could not break her heart, but rip it out of her chest, stomp on it, and throw it on the side of the road. She swears to herself right then that she will avoid him at all costs and tries desperately for years to guard herself and her heart... no matter how badly her hormones scream... TAKE HIM NOW!!!!

Evie and Jared are like fire and gasoline. They are HAWT!!! The scenes from this book had me thinking... good God.... I need another shower and a glass of wine to calm my nerves! Jared knows exactly how to woo the panties off a girl and Evie knows it is only a matter of time before she begs him to do just that.

Jared and Evie's brother, Coby, co-own a business that gets them into sticky situations. Unfortunately, one of those "sticky" situations targets Evie and Jared fears for her life! This book has angst, love, HOT sex, danger, drama, comedy, and whatever else you can think of that good books have to addict you to their story!! I easily give Give Me Love 5 stars on the knock my sock off scale! It knocked off not only my socks, but entire wardrobe!!

Character Line-up Photos: I cannot agree more with Kate's choice of her character line-up!! They are al exactly what I envisioned while reading this amazing book!

I had the pleasure to ask Kate what her top 10 MUST HAVES when writing are. Here are her answers... I LOVE them!!

1) Well first up I’m going to have to say laptop. That’s kind of vital.
2) Chocolate. Also vital. Releases my happy endorphins. Not so good when I need to write bad shit. Not sure what I should eat for that – last night’s leftovers maybe?
3) My credit card. Sometimes I need a break and online shopping is the best kind (^^ see above re happy endorphins).
4) Wine. If anyone’s read my book they would understand this necessity.
5) My beta readers. I harass them sometimes daily with chapters and snippets and really annoying questions. They usually see me coming and just shut their computers down I’m sure.
6) Child care. Kids - I’m lost for words on this one. The other day I had one yelling (as opposed to singing) in her microphone, right in my face while the other was smacking me because I couldn’t get his favourite TV show up and running fast enough for his liking.
7) Music – including earphones. Drowns out point 6 ^^ above.
8) My iPad. My best scenes and dialogue usually arrive when I’m trying to sleep. You can often find me in bed at night, wild eyed as I madly type notes into my iPad so I don’t forget them. I hate typing on my iPad. It’s so slow - so my notes are usually typed out in some form of morse code that I have to decipher the next day while point 6^^ is going on.
9) Comfy pyjamas. If I wake up and start typing, sometimes I’ve been known to stay in them until the late afternoon. Then I might shower and change into another pair. Must buy more pyjamas actually – see point 3 ^^ above.
10) Time out. I hear you’re ‘supposed’ to write a little bit each day but a day off is a MUST. I’m not saying I have days off, but they sound like a good idea :D

 Give Me Love Blog Tour:

We have Julie Richman on our blog today to celebrate her book, Searching For Moore!!
Blurb:
Attended by reality TV star wannabes and Southern California social climbers, Schooner Moore knows the party his wife is throwing for his forty-third birthday has little to do with him and everything to do with her social standing in Orange County. The evening turns out to hold more surprises than just his wife's Botoxed friends groping at his privates, when a conversation with his old college roommate, Beau, reveals the biggest surprise of the night.

Beau has had contact on Facebook with Mia Silver. Just hearing her name sends Schooner into a tailspin, as he is now just a Friend Request away from the one who got away when she disappeared without a goodbye, leaving him wondering why she left.

A serial failure at romance, Manhattan boutique ad agency owner, Mia, gets a blindside of her own when a Facebook Friend Request from first love, Schooner, appears in her email. Going with her gut reaction, Mia hits accept, propelling her past to catch up with her in a New York minute, as a forceful Schooner is determined to understand what tore them apart and to explore the possibility of a second chance at love.

From a 1980's Southern California college campus and a devastating first love to present day New York City, Searching for Moore explores how technology has eradicated the divide between our past and our present, and asks whether you would give up everything to reconnect with The One in a single keystroke?

Julie A. Richman – Author of Searching for Moore Guest Post:

Reality TV shows. Music. Christian Grey. Pop culture fascinates me – whether it is the books we are reading, the TV shows invading our living rooms or the lyrics of songs, there is so much to be gleaned about a society from the way it is reflected in its popularart and entertainment.
From Chapter 1 of Searching for Moore, the book is infused with pop culture, as unwilling birthday boy, Schooner Moore, laments that the party his wife has thrown for him is filled with Real Housewives of Orange County clones. So begins the parallels of our character’s lives with popular culture and the exploration of what are the promises and betrayals, not only in our society and culture on a macro level, but in their lives and their interactions, on a micro level. And there are a lot of betrayals in Searching for Moore – personal, interpersonal, societal.
The co-protagonists, Schooner and Mia, spend an Interim semester at school taking a course where they dissect a quote from American author, music journalist and cultural critic, Greil Marcus. Marcus suggests our culture finds its life and its tension between the borders of the glimmering and the dying away, with the hopes of coming to terms with the betrayal without giving up on the promise. That is a central theme that appears and reappears throughout this book. This element follows the characters throughout the story as they each build seemingly successful lives, lives that from the outside lookingin, are filled with glimmer.
Up until their Facebook-assisted reunite (another pop culture element), their lives wouldbest be described by the title of the Pink Floyd song, “Comfortably numb.” They have learned to live with the betrayal – betrayal that began during their freshman year in college. And now with just a keystroke, in the form of accepting a Facebook Friend Request, Schooner and Mia have the opportunity to come to terms with their life’sbetrayals and finally make good on their promises.
